Michigan Winter Wonderland Poem

I just received a poem through my e-mail about Michigan winters. The author is unknown, but did a fantastic job. The poem pretty much holds true for this winter. Enjoy.

It's winter here in Michigan

And the gentle breezes blow

Sixty miles an hour

At seventeen below.

Oh, how I love Michigan

When the snow's up to your butt

You take a breath of winter

And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful

So I guess I'll hang around

I could never leave Michigan

'Cause I'm frozen to the ground.

Danny, you are welcome, although I can't lay claim to it. Whoever wrote it was creative. Thanks for stopping by.

Duane... all I can say is YUCK!  I'm not a Michigan winter fan.  I'm very proud to be a Michigan summer fan though.  With all our lakes, how can you not love Michigan (just wish the summer season was a little bit longer, that's all) !

Tammy, LOL, same here. Love the winter for about a week, then I'm usually ready for some 70 degree days again.

Thanks for stopping by,

Hi Duane - GREAT poem! I would bet it was recently written -- probably last week Sunday when the blizzard conditions hit! You have offered another beautiful view of our ever changing lakeshore! I love to play in the snow, it is just getting around during the work week that gets to me. I must say though...Texas weather certainly sounds fantastic!!! Stephanie was enjoying 70's when I talked with her the other day!

Mary, please have Stephanie bottle up some of that heat and send it north!

LOL on the poem written last weekend, gotta love these winters lately.

Duane,

We can certainly relate here in Ontario- some of your photos could have been taken here on the north shores of Lake Ontario, they're so similar. Keep up the good work- and thanks for the laugh!

Stephanie, thanks for stopping by. I'm not sure if you as ready for summer as I am? Seems like winter is dragging this year.

My first thought is that you will never leave Michigan because every brain cell is frozen and one can't have a reasonable thought process to figure out how to get outta there under those conditions!

Nannette, LOL so true. Were getting nailed here again tonight. Send heat!

Thanks for sharing, Duane.  It's always nice to get in a good chuckle.  Looking forward to the summer and boating season. . .

Stefan, thanks for stopping by. We all need a good sense of humor with our winters lately. LOL. Summer can't get here quick enough.
