12 Comments on The Minnesota Blogging Crown Has Passed to Another
Teri - congratulations!
Bonnie - thanks for pointing this out.
Teresa - don't start ignoring AR posts to only post on your Other Blog.
In the past so many #1s have gradually faded away on AR. Yes, I know it takes a huge amount of time that none of us have. Just don't go all the way away - do post occasionally.
Teri, Congratulations.
I live in the past when this place was small and there were only a handful of Minnesota bloggers with T and Bonnie holding court at the top of the list and the lovely Lisa Dunn just behind.
I am not sure that I see the benefit of being #1. Does it mean you get more calls from clients? I am #1 in my area. Not sure what it is doing for me. Does anyone have any thoughts about this other than being #1 is better than not being #1,
Maureen, We "has beens" sure had fun, though. I checked Lisa's scores out today and she's way down there under 50,000. She is posting on her other blog, though.
Miriam, The benefit to being number 1 depends on why you are here. I never took AR too seriously as a marketing tool. For me, it was a social network and a place to learn from others. As AR got bigger, it became harder to maneuver and many concentrated their efforts elsewhere. Being number 1 was important to Teresa Boardman and I because we had a fun competition going. She threw potato chip dregs from the top of Mt. Bloggious at me, if I got to close to her numbers. There were crowns exchanged in person, etc. That has pretty much ceased now and taken some of the fun with it. IF you are using AR as a marketing tool, I would think it would be very important to be the first person a consumer would see when searching a state on AR.
Yes, those were good days. Every once in a while, I see glimpses of those days, Teresa, I relinquished my Top Spot when I joined AR. Such is the price to pay... We're brainstorming some fun ways to keep the more veterans members engaged and rewarded. Shoud be some fun stuff!
Congrats, Teri!
You sneak, Carole. How did I miss 200! I don't even keep track of my own stats. I just keep moving along.
Rich, those were the good ol' days. Keeping us veterans engaged . . . I wasn't bored. It just got a bit muddy. Well, it really got a bit more than muddy!
Hey Bonnie and others....Ok many of you may not believe this but I tried very hard not to pass Teresa. I actually liked being number two....Strange though it may be. This is a wonderful group and it is an honor to be included with the likes of Teresa, Bonnie and Lisa...All of who are so much ahead of me outside of the rain. Funny how the points add up even if you don't watch them. I don't know if being #1 will make any difference in getting business. I had gotten business from what I have written on my localism posts but don't attribute to my rank in the state.
Thanks to all for the kudos...I have been here almost a year and it is quite the amazing community.
Still not quite sure I get the potato chip and weenie blog thing but oh well...It sounds like fun anyway. :)
Teri, You'd have to go back and read all of T and my posts and some from others to really get the chips thing. We did have quite the competition going for awhile. It was entirely too distracting!
Yes, Mary, you are right Fame is fickle and in a couple years, no one else will think it's any big deal!
Congrats to Teri.
.... the good old days....
wow I need to get caught up on my reading
