So many folks are becoming real estate agents these days and are told they should hang their license with this brokerage or that for this reason or the other. Coldwell Banker, RE/MAX, Keller Williams, Prudential - the list goes on and on.
Another big issue to consider as a new agent is whether or not you need an assistant.
Some agents start off knowing they want an in-house assistant. They have goals and an agenda that will require an assistant in order to pull it all off, and they want that assistant sitting in the office right next to them. Other agents start off thinking they don't need any type of assistance until they get things built up a bit. Yet others fall in love with the whole concept of a Virtual Assistant and decide to contract with one right off the bat for a small number of hours each month to help them develop their systems and put processes in place.
Is there a right or wrong way to get started? I think not! It depends solely on what you feel you can accomplish on your own and how you want to start off developing your business. You see, the great thing about using a VA is the flexibility to start off slowly! You can contract for as many or as few hours as you need. And build up or scale down as needed.
So determine how you want to run or grow your business. It is a matter of personal style and preference. However, as in many things - there is no right or wrong way to do it! Just do it!

Renae, I have had two in-house assistants, who were not as efficient in the projects I needed as I would have wished. I think having one or more VAs who are expert in various specialties would be more effective.
(BTW, suggestion - the burgundy color on the buttons at the bottom of your blog are so dark that the print is difficult to read.) :o)
