Here's what Snopes say's about the incidident...

The crash did happen in Tulsa
The rider did NOT survive
It happened in April of 2007 on Highway 169.  This is near where I live.
The rider was 26 years old.
His friend had been killed a week earlier on a motorcycle, traveling at a high rate of speed.

If you have a client who rides motorcycles, please encourage them to always wear their helmet and to observe traffic laws!  If YOU are rider, be careful out there!

When I was young I wanted a motorcycle, but was always too worried about the danger to actually get one.

umm, I would agreed, being one of the slightly stupid ones. I have learnt my lesson, I was lucky.

Mine involved a Suzuki 1200 bandit, a tight left hand corner and a small Scottish cliff, I let you put the combination together it's more fun.

I don't believe these pictures need to be on your website or any for that matter. What kind of people are you? Get the story straight. He died first and then his buddy died a few days later. I wished all your clients knew you posted pictures like this. How would you like it to be one of your family members on a website with their death pictures? I also live here in the Tulsa area and I hope I never run into you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Family Member,

After reading your response, I have removed the pics out of sensitivity to the family.  Please know my motives were simply to remind everyone to be safe out there.  Also, when I first got the story I was amazed that the guy survived - which now we know he did not.  Also, the fact about his friend passing away before he did came from the snopes.com piece, so I presume they are wrong?  For me, the tragic loss of life is always a reminder of how precious life is, espcially for our young people out there.

After reading snopes, seems the family wants this posted, to make others aware.

May save someone else's child.

Bob,

Do you remember when we witness that terrible accident on Us169 & 146th in Collinsville.  That gentleman passed on at the scene. Do you remember the date or have any articles on that terrible accident.

I had never gotten that gentlemans name - I just feel it would be nice to remember someones name that parished in the presence of myself & others.  I remember seeing a small expert in the Collinsville paper?  I am unable to find any archived articles.  I think it was in August???
