Saving Money and the planet

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

Saving money and saving the planet is the catch word of this year it seems. Going paperless is great as most of us have to many papers and it gets over whelming. I thought I would list things that are benefits and uses for paperless.

1.De-cluttering

2.Email rather than drive to deliver

3.Clarity of documents

4.Placing disclosures online for easy access

5.Professionalism

6.Storage and retrieval

7.Original protection and verification of receipt

Hopefully this will give some uses. Any other uses would be most welcome.

Bonner, I love technology and believe that we can do so much more online and with data storage than what we currently do.  Unfortunately, we still need to have paper copies for IRS and of course paper is wonderful when the computer goes down and you don't have access to it.

You should look into a Transaction Management System where all paperwork for the purchase of a property is online and parties to the transaction are given passwords to view the paperwork that they are allowed to see.  It's an awesome system for real estate!

Thanks, Bonner.  I think our industry is ripe for change on this front.  If anyone follows up here and has some recommendations for ways to go more paperless, I'd love to check them out.  Thanks!

The paperless office is probably closer than we think, but "back up, back up, and back up". My computer's hard drive gave up the ghost last year,  and I had only about 70% of my material on a back up medium. I learned my lesson, so do not make my mistake.
