If you live in East Grand Rapids or are thinking of moving here, this fund-raiser event is going to be a blast! If you are thinking of moving to EGR, this is a good way to meet your future neighbors. I do not know if you will get so many EGR residents in one place, and the proceeds go to a good cause! Hope to see you there, as I will be there taking pictures and of course blogging it on my blog!
Here are the details:
Shake off the winter blahs this March by attending an evening of fun with your friends and neighbors. The East Grand Rapids Schools Foundation will host a community winter party Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. The event will be held at Integrated Architecture, 4090 Lake Dr., SE, Grand Rapids.
A casual evening of fun, food and camaraderie, the event will feature food and beverage from several area restaurants including: Roses, Green Well, El Arriero, Naya, Yen Ching, Sue Chef, Tommy Fitzgerald of Churchill's, Let Us Cater featuring Yesterdog, Schnitz Deli South, Olives, Founders Brewing Co., Two Chicks and An Oven, Schuil Coffee Co., Las Vegas Cheesecake Co., and Dessert Trays for All Occasions.
The popular local band, Mid-Life Crisis will provide music for the evening in the unique setting of Integrated Architecture. In addition to food, music, and lively conversation, there will be a raffle with fabulous prizes including a week-long vacation in Big Sky, Montana, 80 hours of labor toward to home project of your choice provided by Let Us Inc., a 48" flat screen television, and a $500 Apple Store gift card.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the East Grand Rapids Schools Foundation, whose purpose is to enhance the quality of academic life by supporting or initiating educational programs not able to be underwritten by the East Grand Rapids Public Schools system.

Michelle, This is an excellent post about a local event. It's events like this that make the EGR community unique and special. We'd love to feature this post in the Greater Grand Rapids Michigan Group too.
