Today I got a phone call from a client that even surprised me ... her home had sold for asking in less than three weeks!

The reason I was so surprised is that traditionally the Real estate season in our area does not pick up until March 1st. We had staged this home in January with the theory that it would be ready for the start of the market and pick up any traffic that was looking before the big rush.

I have to give my seller a huge pat on the back for really understanding what it takes to market and sell your home. She contacted us three months prior to staging for a home staging consultation. We gave her a full report of what she needed to do to make her home more presentable. This included repainting some rooms a neutral color and removing personal items.

We then came in and staged a few key rooms to show buyers how they could use this home. Her Realtor loved the results and used the staged photos on-line. Within just a few showings the home owner got a full priced offer and is now looking forward to enjoying her new home.

When you are selling your home, presentation does matter and in this case contributed to a faster and more profitable sale.

It's great when the homeowners follow staging advice, and the price is right.  Thrilling results, Kate!

The home looks great, no wonder it sold so fast! Don't you love getting actual results for your hard work? :)

Thanks ladies,

I forgot to  mention that this is a historic home that had been completely redone but in keeping with the arts and crafts period look- that is why we kept some of the wall paper and colors the home seller selected. We chose to stage it with our items because we wanted buyers to imagine that any style could work in this home and not just the period pieces the home owner had. She was really educated about what she needed to do to get the home ready and I know that staging and proper pricing helped move this home in a otherwise quiet market.

Absolutely right about staying generic.  Apparently buyers find A&C intimidating if they don't have a huge collection of period-appropiate pieces.  Still, I love the way you stayed simple, yet linear in keeping with the A&C overall ethos.

Very nice job!  It is so wonderful when you have clients who seem to understand!  Congratulations on the quick sale and great stats.

I love the look of this home, we don't have too many historical homes in this area, they have so much character.  Home is old but looks new and inviting.  Nice quick sale, congrats!

That dining room is gorgeous with the wood.  Don't see many bidets here anymore - have they gone out of fashion?
