Did you ever have a day?

It has been one of the those bad days for me.  Everything has seemed to go wrong today.  Up to today, life hasn't been bad.  It is rough economically here in the Metro Detroit area.  We have to work harder and do more things to make the same amount of money.  We "have to shift gears" to make it.

But today is one of those days that I want to run away to a warm beach , to sit and cry about how bad it is.  I had a bank cut the amount that they would loan to one of my buyers, so that deal is in jeopardy.  One of the foreclosure companies forgot to extend the city inspection so that deal is going to have to be extended.  A family member who was engaged and going to buy a house isn't now with me.  The fiance stopped at an open house and bought it.  They never returned my calls from last week and never even gave me the courtesy to tell me.  And that was family.  That was even after I pulled their credit reports and told them what they needed to do to qualify for a loan.  And to top it off I have friend who has cancer who I couldn't get off my mind.

It's a day that is overwhelming if you take it all at once.  I wanted to sleep but I knew it would still all be there in the morning.  Who did I reach out to for support.  My wife Marianne, she's always there for me, a good client, and a good cousin.  They helped talk out some of these issues, and realize it was ok to feel mad at the family member, sad for my friend with cancer, and realize that tomorrow I can solve the other two problems.  Good friends, good clients, and a good wife has made my rough day a little smoother.  I realize as I sit here at the computer that I do not have it bad.  Sure it was a bad day, but it could have been worse.  I think now that I could not have "those good friends to lean on".  If I couldn't hear I may never heard those problems,  but wouldn't that be a shame not to hear the sound of another human voice.  I'm lucky to have good people in my life.

I'm lucky in more ways in one.  My wife's father used to say  "THIS TOO SHALL PASS"  Life goes in a cycle.  Sometimes good, sometimes bad.  It is how we react in the bad times, and how we pick ourselves up and continue to live life that counts.

May you have had a good day today, and may tomorrow be better.  Russ Ravary

THIS TOO SHALL PASS

After I wrote this I read a blog from another Active Rain blogger about her brother that may be paralyzed from a skiing accident.  My problems are little.  This lady needs prayers for her brother.  Please pray that he can provide for himself and continue to lead a good life.
