The taxpayers won't like this, but the kids and teachers and parents will. 

The Port Townsend School Board voted to put a $33.8 million construction bond to build a new elementary school before voters this spring.  The 15-year bond would give the school $33.8 million for a new Elementary campus.  $17,933,418 in interest the total cost to taxpayers would be around $52 million.  Under the proposal, a home valued for tax assessment  at $200,000 would pay an additional $158 per year until 2012. After that, $1.73 per assessed thousand valuation. After 2012, a home valued at $325,000 would be charged $562.25 a year. Port Townsend Washington is located on the Olympic Peninsula on the Northeast corner of the Olympic peninsula and sits within the rain shadow created by the Olympic Mountains.  Port Townsend is on a peninsula of its own called Quimper Peninsula.
