Fake Pay Check Stubs - NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Don't Think So

As I was reading about fake pay check stubs I thought NOT!!!!!!!  I Don't Think So.  I was wondering if this was like a joke or something.  When I started to make a comment about the blog I noticed it was disabled and I was not able to make a comment.  Who needs to use fake pay check stubs.  I am truly not impressed with that.  Well my reason is because I had a client who was using fake pay check stubs.  When it was time to go to the closing table this is when I found out about it.  Was not able to close after working on the deal for 3 months.  I was furious and I said to myself, "Who in the world would use fake pay check stubs". Well I guess this kinda thing is happening in our world but I never thought it would happen to me.  So for me I do not advise anyone getting caught up in this thing.  It would make our industry look kinda stupid if people were getting into homes using fake pay stubs.  What do you think?

Sonya - In today's world, we have to be on guard against identity theft, fake pay stubs, mortgage fraud, etc... It's better to lose the deal than to get caught up in these schemes to defraud others.

This is just plain out and out fraud.  Surely, this person didn't get away with it at your closing.  Was anything done to the person who tried to deceive and basically steal?  I sure feel your pain as they say after working so hard for 3 months to have this happen.  I think it was a blessing that it didn't close and then you would have been a party to it even though you were innocent.

I'm with Donna!  It's FRAUD...and it's puts the borrower in a compromising situation.  They may get the house they want, but can they really afford it?

There is no way that can be legal....RIGHT?!!?!?!?!? I often sit and think to myself...who comes up with these scams. So of the scams floating around are the most ingenious things I have ever heard of. Why don't these individuals take there brain power and put it to work on something good?! It baffles my mind. They say "a genious mind is one step from an insane mind." I say "a criminal mind is one step from genious!"

Unbelievable! I can't even imagine what they were thinking.  That's fraud and people go to jail for that. I had a client who tried to change her W-2s for her loan. Well, that didn't turn out so good. The lender called me to tell me what going on.  She threw a fit, not understanding why we weren't going to let her submit fraudulent documents.  I had to explain the law to her.  She didn't close on the house, thankfully.
