The least happy people I saw last year, were the ones being forced out of their homes by the owner. People who rented single family homes when the owner decided to sell or people who lived in apartment buildings that become condo conversions.
Don't think you are forced into buying instead of renting due to forces beyond your control. You may never be happy with your purchase if you feel that you were forced into that decision by a third party.
Find someplace else to rent and then go out to look at property to buy. This way the choice to rent or buy will be yours, and not simply because circumstances forced you to move.
