Smiley

As I go about my daily life, I make a conscious effort to smile at and say a cheerful "Hello!" to everyone I make eye contact with.

A long time ago, I realized that some days, that may be the only smile that someone receives. They could be having a great day or one that is a little challenging.

Even if there are language barriers, a smile is the Universal Language. Everyone understands it.

I have had people ask me why I am so happy. The truth is, I have:

  • A great life, complete with my health and filled with family and friends who love me.
  • A career that I absolutely love (and would do it for free - and sometimes have!) :-)
  • Sufficient money to pay my bills and put food on the table.

WHY NOT BE HAPPY? Who could ask for more?

This attitude can also translate over into our daily prospecting for new clients. A smile is such a small thing to some, but could be life-changing to others. Wouldn't you be more receptive to being approached by a friendly, smiling individual than to someone who didn't appear to be friendly?

So...what do you do to add sunshine to someone's day?

I love this - making eye contact and smiling at strangers does not come naturally to me (at all), but I've been purposely making an effort lately. I don't know if changes THEIR day, but it sure improves mine!

I believe that a smile and a greeting does go a long way. I greet others, as I pass them, with both. And I usually get the same positive response in return.

Darleen this is a nice reminder of what one small thing the curving of your lips can mean to someone.  Thank you.

Isn't it amazing that they say it takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile but most days it seems harder to do.  With Christ living in me it should show in many ways, one being a genuine and caring smile.  Thanks for the reminder.

Bringing you home...
Smiling goes a long ways.. especially when you smile and you know that they "got it" even if they can't smile back. That's a reminder to me of what a smile can really mean.

Jennifer ~ If smiling at strangers doesn't come naturally, it most definitely takes some work. It feels good to smile - and we all have something to smile about.

Mike ~ Thanks for the video. I love it when the whole world is smiling.

Derrick ~ Yes, most people will respond with a smile and at "Hello."

Linda  ~ Nicely said!
