I was showing property for the last couple of days and at one point the buyers had the search narrowed to one subdivision that they loved. We viewed all the homes in the subdivision that met their needs and found that two had either been vandalized or someone had tried to break in. Now my buyers are scratching that subdivision and moving on.
When giving feedback to other agents I suggested that the HOA hire security to watch the subdivision. If all the homeowners took a small assessment it would cut down on the cost. This particular subdivision has many empty homes, both private owners and bank owned.
I would be interested in hearing other ideas.
