During 2007, members of NWMLS:

􀂃 Reported more than 82,000 closed sales, valued at more than $33 billion.
􀂃 Maintained a high ratio of cross-sales: nearly eight of every 10 transactions (79 percent) were listed by one office and sold by a different office.
􀂃 Added "green features" to the database, enabling searches for properties with environmental certifications, energy efficient features and sustainable materials.
􀂃 Reported an area-wide median price of $342,000 for single-family homes that sold last year, up 5.9 percent from 2006.
􀂃 Added 152,862 new listings of SFH and condos to inventory, with the highest volume (16,888) added during May.
􀂃 Represented more than 41,000 home sellers, on average, each month.
􀂃 Reported 2,186 sales of single family homes and 125 sales of condominiums priced at $1 million or more (up from 2,099 during 2006). 1,115 condos sold for $500,000 or more (up from 859 during 2006), an increase of nearly 30 percent.
􀂃 The MLS area covering Bellevue/West of 405 (map area 520) had the highest number of million dollar-plus sales with 240, followed by Kirkland/Bridle Trails with 185 and Central Seattle/Madison Park with 177. For high-end condos ($500,000-plus), Belltown claimed the highest number of sales (28 units).
􀂃 Among the 19 counties in the MLS service area, San Juan claimed the highest median price ($563,250) for single family homes that sold last year; King County followed at $455,000.
􀂃 Among school districts, homes on Mercer Island had the highest median selling price, at $1,081,250.
􀂃 In the four-county Puget Sound region (King, Snohomish, Pierce and Kitsap), only
about 4.68 percent of single family homes sold for under $200,000.
􀂃 Sold more than 15,000 condominiums, slightly fewer than the number sold in 2006; during 2007; approximately 63 percent of all condos that sold system-wide were in King County.; 80 percent had two or fewer bedrooms.
􀂃 Found wide variation in prices of 3-bedroom homes. For pre-owned homes (built 2005 or earlier), the median sales price ranged from $145,000 in Grant Co. to $500,000 in San Juan Co. Newly built homes ranged from $182,059 to $685,000.
􀂃 In King County, the average price of a single family home that sold in 2007 was $564,468; in 1997, the price was $230,345 and in 1990 it was $178,187.
