Great post!  Raleigh teeters with light rail between here and Durham.  The commute is challenging and there are SO MANY vehicles on the road.  I love when I see cities such as Ann Arbor embracing the alternate ideas!

Cool.... They can always use more suggestions to creating a better environment...We're supposed to have a rail system by 2012....this may alleviate our congestion on the freeways .... My cousin attended the University in Ann Arbor....or around there somewhere. This was back in the 70's...

Karen~What a great post to get your locals out to get involved in the community. Your pictures always look so wonderful. What kind of camera are you using?

Leesa and Sally,  you both mentioned rail systems.  I lived in the Paris, France area for a year and loved the rail system.  They talk about one to other parts of Michigan and I think it would be wonderful.  Hope it happens some day.  Thanks for stopping by!

Julie, thank you I have two digital cameras I use and both are older so they are larger than the new ones.  The oldest takes pretty good close up shots and it is a Fiji FinePix and the smaller one is a Canon PowerShot.  I need to get software besides my Picasa and work with the photos a bit more.  But thanks for the comment.  I try to always have a camera next to me when I'm driving around.

Lovely photos and tour of your town :-)   The meeting at the tea room sounds like it could really be educational.

Karen~Thank you for the camera info. I have this habit of asking everybody when I see such beautiful photos. I'm like you, I never leave home without my camera, it's always connected to my hip, I mean in my purse. Have a wonderful weekend.
