Clients are asking, "How green is my Realtor." More buyers are looking for ways to save energy and agents are looking to attract buyers and sellers.  Want to try a new way to market your services as a Realtor?  In today's downward spiraling real estate market thinking of new ways to promote yourself might  not be so difficult.  So, her comes the mother of invention, real estate agents are trying to attract buyers and sellers by making them aware of  "green," environmentally friendly homes.  The agents market these energy saving homes on their Web site.  And go as far as to take course to gain knowledge about geo-thermal heat pumps.  They also endeavor to help their sellers qualify for grants and tax credits for these improvements that save energy.  But is all the knowledge gleaned in abbreviated courses enough to answer as an expert?  That is questionable.  Read, "How Green Is My Realtor."

Yes I think any angle and in many ways all angles is the way to go, but you have to be true to yourself because the people you will attract will see if your a hypocrite.

I believe some help is needed, but, in the last seven years, many folks here in Ct had replacement windows installed, vinyl siding, new roofs, new furnaces.  Here, oil is the most popular resource for heat. Electric heat pumps are here and there, but, now in this market, no one wants the expense.  Times are changing for sure, our older New England homes are better insulated, so I would guess, that's a good green thing:)

It's a Good Life!

Renee - I agree that it is important to take some classes to familiarize ourselves with what it is to be green, then we will be more knowledgeable when talking to clients and our opinion will be more valued.
