Spring is approaching! A wonderful way over the last bit of winter doldrums before spring gardening time actually arrives, is the cleaning out and refreshing of home interiors. Thoughts begin to turn toward cheery colors, accents, painting and redecorating.

Along with these inspirations also some questions arise as to how to pull it off. Often simple changes can make a big difference:

  • Cushion toppers and table linens in fresh colors that make you happy
  • Slipcovering furniture is an old tradition for creating a separate look for summer and winter
  • New art pieces featuring springtime freshness
  • Window Coverings create happy cheery freshness framing the sunshine and greenery that will be appearing
  • The bathroom is easily renewed from the winter 'warm' tones to springtime freshness with new linens and fresh art
  • Bedrooms - make them positively bloom for spring - again this is another great space for creating fresh looks for the various seasons.

Deborah:  I can't wait until Spring.  Every winter I go through a depression because of the lack of sunshine.  I love the painting and all the "cheery" colors.

Hi Debbie! I can see that spring would be your significant season - you look like a spring-time person. I love spring, as I do all seasons, but autumn is my favorite.

Well Jan you do need the sunshine of spring-time! It is truly anazing the effect that light, especially the sun has on us. I am a little surprised though because Tennessee is southerly location - I didn't realize you would be so affected. I have found that I feel better with using certain amino acids in addition to my supplement base. 5htp increases seratonin.

Thanks for your comments Fernando - I agree the art prints are beautiful reproductions - and affordable - especially for staging.

Deborah, I can tell you are longing for warm sunny weather :-)  Here in FL, we are already gearing up for summer, as there really is no Spring here to speak of.  I kinda miss the anticipation of throwing open the windows and Spring cleaning, and doing just what you said, bringing in the fresh colors of the season.

Deborah, My favorite season is spring too, although Terry is right, there is a limited springtime feeling here in FL. When living in NY spring was basically the month of May, up until then you can expect that winter isn't really over. So no complaints here!

Christina - you would know about the welcome cheeriness of springtime colors after the long Minnesota winter! I think especially in northern climates we appreciate spring fresh colors so much.

Yeah kind of different hey Terry - you sort of have continual summer - I do like the seasons and I love decorating and redecorating according to the seasons, especially my bedroom.

I'm getting geared up to paint my kitchen a lovely yellow.

Hi Penny - Spring is a wonderful season, but I'm not so sure I should feel sorry for you and Terry down there in the continual summer of Florida! I'm sure you hav eplenty of inspirations for decirating and staging!

(Must be rough, hey Terry?!)

Thanks for visiting Penny! ;)

Yeah Deborah its really rough living down here :-)  Well except during hurricane season then all bets are off till the all clear siren signals the end of the waiting.  But trust me, summers here are not for the faint of heart, they can be brutal.  But all in all I'd rather have brutal summers than suffer through brutal cold winters.

Hey there Terry! I was just giving you Floridians? Floridites? Florettes! a tease. I guess it depends on how you're acclimated. I can tolerate the cold better than extreme heat. When it gets upwards of 43C (109F) I can't handle it. When I travel south to the topics it's in the cooler season.
