Aggie on American Idol

I just found out that Jason Castro on American Idol is an Aggie! If you remember him, he is the guy with the dreadlocks! He was a construction science major at Texas A&M before he auditioned.

I now have a new favorite. The judges really seem to like Jason so hopefully America will to. I hope he makes into the Top 12.

2/25 Performance - I really liked Jason's performance tonight with the guitar but the judges didn't like him. They said the performance as a whole was nice but his vocals weren't good. Hope he makes it until next week to redeem himself.

Hi Liz - I'm been very busy but it is all volunteer stuff. I'm the Chair for my association's Government Affairs committee so I've spent about 20 hours in the last 2 weeks interviewing city council candidates in 4 different cities and I'm the Asst. Chair for a big Junior League event that is happening April 19. No time to make a living!! :-) I'll be back writing soon.

Tom - I love the hair! It's his trademark. I think Jason did a great job with his song "Over the Rainbow" last night. I definitely think he is safe. It seems like the pre-teen girls love him and they are the ones obsessed enough to call in for 2 hours.

Linda, we are definitely rooting for Jason! We have multiple Aggies in our family and we have friends who go to Jason's church, so we feel a certain connection with him. He is a talented guy and I can overlook the dreds. Also, Jason seems like such a happy person. He always seems to have a smile on his face. I like that!

Kay - Yeah, I hated to see him go but his performance this week wasn't good. It would have been neat to see him in the Top 3 though because then they would have gone to A&M and shown off the school. Oh well, I'll still be watching AI next week.

His performances the past few weeks have been trending downward at a time whan as Randy would say he needed to "bring it on"! I was sorry he didn't win, but he also was not outperforming his competition.
