New to blogging and scared to death

Hello everyone and thank you for letting me join your group. I am not new to Real Estate but new to blogging and technology doesn't come easy for me. Any tips and help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated.

So about me, I started in new home sales years ago and decided to go out on my own. General Brokerage has been difficult for me and just as I started my Brokerage the market turned. I love this business and the Internet is helping me get better at it. I hope I can contribute to knowledge of new home sales and learn something from you guys about General Brokerage.

Well Virginia, you already have the most important part of learning new things like blogging that everyone needs, and that is the desire to learn and improve! I just joined last week and wrote my first blog........I don't know if it made any sense, but I actually got comments on it and lots of support. Hang in there!

Your off to a good start with your blogging and don't forget you can list your homes for sale as well.

The more you explore, the better you feel - and you'll find that many blogs have very worthwhile info, lots of good stuff to help grow your business, while other folks simply have too much time on their hands and a limited command of the language - kind of like the people in your office. Check out different groups because there are people here who tell jokes, comment on politics, advise on banking, help drive traffic to websites, promote positive thoughts and on and on. This is a true community and the better you get to know it, the more you'll enjoy.

Welcome Virginia from one Newbie to another. I joined back in August but like you new nothing about blogging so I never did anything. Then I decided to give it a try. You will get the hang of it real quick just by reading different blogs in different groups. Nice people in Active Rain so take a deep breath and dig in.

I am a newbie too. I still haven't started my own blog but I have finally gotten enough nerve to comment on a couple. You are a good example for me.

Welcome Virginia!!! There is nothing to be scared of. This is a great place to be with a wonderful group of professionals that will make you feel at home. I think blogging is a personal thing. Be yourself and let it shine through in your writing and you will be just fine.

Great to see you here as a member. Welcome. One way to get started is to go to AR's front page and there click on Online Resources. Blogging can at first feel tough, but we all had the jitters when we started, so there. Jump right in.

Virginia- Welcome. I noticed you opened your own company, well there are tons of people here that operated their own Brokerage (including me) who are probably experiencing some similar things. There is probably a blog about anything you want to know.....you can use the search button ...at the top of the page....

Good luck, and have fun. Here is a good Group to join.....Positive Attitudes for the Weary Soul.....a positive group, and some good posts in it :)

Thank you guys for all your support, now that I have pushed the first button and got some responses I feel MUCH better. I will read some of the places you sent to learn. If anyone runs across anything else good for me to view during my time as a newbie, please blog me...

Virginia - Welcome to active|rain - you will find this to be a community that cares and shares you will find there are little groups and big groups you will find individuals that you will pass by and you will find individuals that will become friends. There is an amazing amount of information and talent here in the rain and they are willing to share, throw away the umbrela and soak it all in.

Hi Virginia, Welcome to AR. I can relate to being nervous. When I started I also wrote a post about being nervous and not knowing what do. The comments I received in just a few minutes made me feel that I made the right choice and it was going to be a great experience. It has been. There are lots of knowledgeable and experienced members that will answer all the questions you will have. So don't worry be consistent and take it day by day, eventually you will be an expert. I would suggest joining groups that interest you and comment on the blogs until you feel comfortable. Once you are comfortable, then do a few blogs. The people here are very polite and will be very supportive and helpful.

Thank you guys for your support. It has been a couple of months and still I'm not that comfortable blogging. I will sit sometimes and stare at my computer trying to figure out what to say and how to say it intelligently so I don't say anything. This reminds me of the chat rooms years ago when they first started. I wouldn't talk then either..haha..

Welcome, Virginia! I have been on AR since April and had never blogged before AR. Just jump in and learn as you go! There are many great blogs that provide instructional information for Newbies. Seek and you will find. Have fun!

Thanks Nancy...the biggest problem I have now is navigating to the members like yourself that comment so I can return the favor. There doesn't seem to be an easy way to get to everyones blogs, or I should say easy for me!

Hi and welcome!

I am new to active rain have learned a lot about blogging--first time blogging.

I have been here two weeks and my points are about 7000 and always looking to increas them. I will post my blog about what i have learned repgrading points.
