Another great place to go on a cold day.  The fern room is not a good place to take a camera because it is so damp inside.  Not a cold damp but a warm damp, which is nice because we have enough cold here in Minnesota.  The McNeely Conservatory at Como park is free.  They ask for a $2.00 donation.  It is a great place to go anytime but during the cold winter months people tend to linger.

The plant is called "little wart" funny name for such a beautiful flower.

Painted daisies.

I could see why you would like to linger.  The flowers are beautiful and the pictures are just as great!

Beautiful.  I bet it was warm in there...a big difference from the temperature outside.

So warm I wanted to stay over night.  Instead I ended up working half the night to make up for the time I squandered taking pictures.

The flowers are lovelt, but the architecture...! Standing inside that structure and looking up must be awesome.

LOVE flowers so I know I would be in heaven there.  What great photos!  I've decided you must get a majority of sunny days because your skies are so blue and clear.  I find I have to time my photography around cloudy or hazy days a lot here.  But, it's not so cold!

Diane - when it is below zero here as it was yesterday when I took the photo the skies are very blue.  The air is dry and I have gotten some amazing outdoor shots.  It is hard on the camera and the photographer so I don't do it very often. :)

Beautiful photos, Teresa. I remember visiting Como in the dead of winter - it was always such a pleasant way to enjoy the brutal cold.

Jeff - I think I could spend an entire day there.  As it was I only had an hour, I managed to take a gigabyte of photos and left when my battery was almost dead.

Teresa, if you ever come to Washington, you should check out the National Botanical Gardens down on the Mall.  I took my camera there on day and had a blast.

I love taking pictures of flowers.  There are none here in the winter that actually grow in the dirt so it was a real treat to spend some time in the conservatory.  I filled up my camera card and wore out the battery.  I would go back right now but I have to work. :)
