Relocating to Winchester, VA? This team is going to IMPACT you!

Winchester, Va has its own semi-professional, indoor soccer team,The Winchester Impact! Don't let the words semi-professional fool you. These players mean business and provide a lively, sometimes, intimidating performance. Part of the Premier Arena Soccer League, most of the team members are actually former college players, and currently reside in the Shenandoah Valley area. If you want to experience the rush, you cannot miss another game! If you are looking to relocate, call me and we'll try to work a game into your visit!

Feb 18, 2008. Winchester crushed the Richmond Rowdies in a tough game ending at 22-16. Each quarter, players went down, and they went down hard. They landed on knees, and each other, and I could have sworn that one broke his foot kicking the side of the wall by the loud smack he gave it. Amazingly, each of these men actually shook themselves off and WALKED off the field! My favorite feet belong to number 15. (Readers, if you know this man's name, please post it here). The fastest and most powerful player, in my opinion, was Trey Brown! He passed, he yelled, he did what was necessary! Of course he wasn't the only one! The whole team played well. Here are some photos I took during the game!

This is the first in a series of relocation posts. If you and/or your family have decided or are considering a move to Winchester, VA, I'll be working hard to create posts which reflect life here in the Apple Capital. It's not always easy to pack up the family and fly to your new destination. Even if it is, you can't always spend time exploring the town. Often, you're simply interviewing and searching for homes. UPDATE: Please visit the Winchester Relocation Wrap Up post for important area links and a running list of relocation blogs!

Natalie:  What a fun post.  I lived in Richmond for awhile, and it might be fun to see the Richmond Rowdies play the Winchester Inpact.  I'm going to be in Reston, VA this coming August.  Maybe while I am whizzing across I-66 I might stop and visit awhile in Winchester.  Thanks for sharing.

NATALIE - Very cool relocation post.  I really enjoy going to minor league baseball games around here.  Sometimes it's even more fun to go to these because you know that they are playing for the love of the game, and not for the money.

Ah, nothing like the competitive spirit of sport to infuse one with the sense of living. Every person should get out there and kick a ball!

Karen, are you kidding?  If you come to town, it's my treat for Foster's Grille & a game!  It'll be great to catch up with a fellow Rainer!

Adam, I agree with you wholeheartedly.  I heard these guys actually practice once a week 10-11:30 pm!  That's dedication if you ask me!

Charles, It was a blast.  During half time, a local youth team actually played a mini game!  They were also tough cookies and my daughter was thrilled they were all girls!

Andrew, I agree with you wholeheartedly!  We love to play soccer in our backyard 3 seasons of the year!  Thanks for commenting.

Natalie:  That really sounds like a lot of fun, and a great idea for taking a van-full of kids to.  What a great family outing.

Karen, You're right!  We had a family friend and his son join us for the most recent game and there's nothing like seeing the kids scream with excitement when your team scores a goal!  We won again, after finishing the first half down 9-2, so it was particularly fun!  Thanks for commenting!
