The Metroparks of the Toledo area are such a wonderful "jewel" for the Metro area.  There are "12" that's right 12 wonderful parks.  They are located as follows:

  1. BENDVIEW                                       Whitehouse/Waterville area
  2. BLUE CREEK CONSERVATION              Waterville/Whitehouse area
  3. FALLEN TIMBERS                               Maumee area
  4. FARNSWORTH                                  Waterville
  5. OAK OPENINGS PRESERVE                  Whitehouse
  6. PEARSON                                         Oregon
  7. PROVIDENCE                                    Providence
  8. SECOR METROPARK                          Sylvania
  9. SIDE CUT METROPARK                      Waterville/Maumee
  10. SWAN CREEK PRESERVE                     South Toledo
  11. TOLEDO BOTANICAL GARDEN             West Toledo
  12. WILDWOOD PRESERVE METROPARK    West Toledo/Sylvania

All of these parks have wonderful walking grounds. Various fybyersmithestivals, jazz nights, art shows and so much more.  The larger parks have mile markers and various trails.  A lot of these Metroparks have nature viewing areas that are very nicely done so that you feel as if you are nose to nose with different squirrels and birds.

All or most of these Metroparks are Dog friendly and you will see a lot of people walking their dogs actually.  So go out and check these wonderful Metroparks out!  They are wonderful places to get back in touch with nature and relax!

You're absolutely right!  Our Metro parks are one of the greatest attractions to Toledo & Northwest Ohio.  I just trekked to Wildwood this morning and it was alive with young and old alike!
