Does anyone remember a movie entitled The House of D that was directed by David Duchovny and starred Tea Leoni? I know you remember the movie that offered Michael Caine an opportunity to win his second Oscar for his role as Dr. Wilbur Larch. The name of that movie was The Cider House Rules.

 

 

 

Let me ask you a question. What does these two movies have in common?

 

 

The Answer: A chick that I've been diggin' since 1997! Her name is Erykah Badu.

 

For those of you that have read my profile or looked through my Squidoo Lens, you know about my love for music. Well...Erykah is "dropping" her lastest musical work entitled New Amerykah. Erykah's new album hits stores on Tuesday! Here's some video that has Erykah talking about her new project and this guy named Slim. According to Erykah's "Honey" single off New Amerykah, 'Sugar got a long way to catch him'.

 

I've included some bonus sound and a performance on Chappelle's Show . A big THEM/THEM to Erykah and all other artists that help keep me sane in this crazy world.

She is an incredible artist. That new video "honey" is a great video and I like the message of supporting mom & pops shops at the end.  I think we should really support our local economies in the Real Estate world with local lenders, and alike.  Good Luck and Best Wishes.

Hi David, I'm an Erykah fan as well.  Thanks for letting us know about her latest.  My favorites are still "What A Day" and "Call Tyrone".  She's a great artist.

Erykah's performance on the Dave Chappelle Show was "tight". She did a mix of one of her new songs with an old school jam. Wish I could get that mix or see the video again. Long Live Erykah Badu!!!
