Parents Looking For there Kids

Is this the trend or I am the only one running into this. I have been getting calls from parents of kids from up North asking to see properties for there children looking for vacation homes. Am I wasting my time or is this something normal that everyone is running into.

I did sell a property to someone who had his father view it for him, but I don't think that is the norm. Is it show a hundred homes to the parents so you can show 10 to the kids when they come down. Or worse yet, show 100 homes to the parents so the kids know they will like nothing here.

Does a parent truly know what there child is looking for? Is it worth the time, is this a true potential buyer, what is your thoughts and are you getting that as well?

I've had it work out, even for their first home.  The problem I've run into is the parent's start looking then the kids somehow hook up with another agent.   Maybe it's different if the kids are always remote.

I think it would be in your best interest, after consulting with the parent to ask to speak to the kids before you get too involved.

(I recall driving by Juniper last weekend as we drove from Orlando to Boynton Beach.  I'm back in the frozen north now).

I've had that happen as well.  Three times to be exact.  2 out of 3 bought.  By the way it's "their" not "there".  Just the "english major" in me.  Good post.

I'm glad to hear I will not be wasting my time. I have spoken to two customers and they have told me I will be showing there parents for them. I hope my percentages are similar to yours. :)

Nope, the parents want what they want and the kids want what they want, the kids always win.

Take care!

I've noticed parents typically want more then the kids can afford...
