The Ballard Dennys was officially voted into a historical landmark category this week in a 6-3 vote. I used to take my daughter there to eat for free when I was a struggling single mom and I have fond memories of it - I admit I was sad to see the windows boarded up in anticipation of yet another new development in the heart of Ballard. I am still upset over the Trader Joes building that is smothering the little old lady's house just East of the Ballard Bridge.
I am sure this decision will be appealed, but for now the Ballard Denny's will stay put. Check out the Ballard Denny's posts on Vintage Seattle. There is a wonderful shot of the original Mannings interior.
