Active Rain and Localism Week-in-Review ..... February 17 - 24, 2008

For those who've done these Weeks-in-Review in the past, you know how much reading is needed to pull together the posts to feature. We typically have about a week or so to do the necessary reading. This time around, I had 2 1/2 days to get my reading in for this one - and my eyes are ready to pop out of my head!

This was a week full of rather interesting events going on here on AR and in the outside blogging world, that's for sure!

I thought this was THE feel-good, certain-to-make-you-smile post of the week:

Ann, I am so flattered to make this list - Wow, you really did some reading and picked out some great posts. Fortunately I've read some of these, so my to-do list won't be too long, but I did miss some the first time around. Thanks for breaking down the list with such great explanations!

Wow Ann, wonderful job! Broken up very nicely and heck...what a great week it was reading these blogs! I should say that it is week's such as these that made me adore this venue in the first place. So many excellent contributors, so much talent in every form. Your round-up is a reminder of just that. There's a few, as always, that I missed.

This is really a thorough list for just 2 1/2 days! I missed a few in the AR list, and am really going to zero in on the Localism posts as examples and inspiration to keep developing my own local content. Thanks for your effort on this, Ann!

Ann - this is a wonderful job you did! You listed some people I'm not familiar with and gives me something to read. Before I commented I clicked on a few and just scanned them..I'm for sure going back to read! The more I see these week in reviews I'm dumbfounded by all the work necessary to do them...hats off to you for a spectacular job! These are great!

Matt - I miss the Localism Weeks-in-Review we used to do separately. I know the last week-in-review I did a little while back, I combined the 2 in that one, too. I just think those who write mostly for localism need a little light shining on them, too, especially the really well-done posts like these I picked out. I had a really long list that I had pulled out, and then I had to pare it down for this post - that was hard!

Kerry - I'm glad you found this post, and I hope you'll read the future ones as well. Each of the weeks-in-review highlight posts from that week, so it makes it easy to try to catch up on some great reading if you weren't able to during the week. Glad you enjoyed this one!
