I always TRY.  I take chances; I jump in.  While others are still scratching their heads attempting to figure out how to do something and over analyze things, I just go in WITHOUT all the answers.  I figure the best way to learn, is to hurry up and make some mistakes.

One of the best lessons I've taught  my kids, friends, agents, clients:  whatever you want, TRY to get it!  You have a 50/50 chance of success, it's simply in the numbers, the law of averages, and it works.  It doesn't matter whether you think that it will work.  Merely trying, improves your odds by 50%!

Surprisingly, it usually works out much better than originally anticipated.  If you fail, still give yourself a pat on the back just for trying.  9 times out of 10, SOMETHING happens, something other than what you had originally expected.  It usually works out better, not worse.

If you don't have a sense of entitlement, if you just BELIEVE that good things will happen, if you are polite and nice, you will be surprised by the results.   You want to invite that gorgeous girl out on a date, but think she'll never give you the time of day?  Just go right now and ask her out!   You want a higher split from your broker?  Go in there today and ask for it! You want to call that FSBO, or expired?  Just do it!  Even when you don't succeed, you'll learn something you can use the next time...

I sooo agree with you!  Give it a shot...if it works, keep doing it.  If not, dont.  Simple enough.

Mirela: Great post. We need to be reminded that the impossible is sometimes possible if we try.

Mirela - I am the same way. This certainly holds true with the internet and blogging - I just jump right in and figure out what works best :)

Mirela - Sometimes, instead of asking "why" the better question is "why not".  Of course for me, the  analyzer, I have to remind myself of that every single step of the way :)

Mirela - I've always told my kids that "If you don't try you have a 100% chance of not succeeding, but by trying you certainly have a chance to succeed."  Most people don't even try, so those of us who do will have an even better chance of achieving what we want.  Keep up the great "can do" attitude.

Thank you Lynn!  You do the same!

I'll take that 50/50 chance any time...  It's well worth the effort.

I am a huge believer in trying, but also believing that you CAN do something. I have even made my teenage son a believer! It comes in handy before he hits in a baseball game or before a wrestling match.

I had him try this simple exercise: (needs 2 people) Hold your arm straight out in front of you and say 'I am not good enough' 4 times. Then have the other person try to push your arm down. THEN: Do it again, but say 'I am good enough' 4 times and then have them try to push your arm down. You will see that it is much easier to push the arm down after the 'I am not good enough' and much harder to do so when you say 'I am good enough'.

Sometimes we get inside our own head and ruin the moment before it even gets started.

Nancy, you are awesome!

I will pass this one to my team AND my daughter.  My son, who is 24 is already FULLY indoctrinated and a huge success because of it.

Thank you very much for the great advice!  It will help a lot of people.

Thanks Mirela! It really does help a person's mindset.

For the record... you so DO NOT look old enough to have a 24 year old!  You must have started young like me. My oldest is turning 16 next month. Aaagh! It goes by way too fast!

Mirela - I used to be a perfectionist, years and years ago. It served me well for a while. Then, after I opened my business I started studying successful people and I noticed they had one thing in common - they all jumped in! Instead of trying to get every single detail perfect, they would figure out what absolutely needed to get done and just do it! Thanks for the reminder.

It is always the way to go.  Simply move forward.  There is no staying where you are.  You are either moving forward or backwards.  Lets move ahead. Be positive, believe and you will succeed.

Cheryl:  YES!  YES!  YES!

Jackie:  The ability and willingness to just do it makes the difference between those who get to the top and those who just lament:  "I wish I had!"

Nancy:   Time flies.  Live well!

Mirela, just give it a shot. You won't ever wonder what would have happened ... IF ....

Go for it. Aim for the moon, always.  If you fall, at least you still fall among the stars.

I completely agree! I always say, the answer is always no if you never ask!
