The Ewa Beach, Oahu, Hawaii area has grown tremendously since developers starting building new homes starting from the 1990's.  They are still building but since the inventory is high for resales in this area they have slowed down a little and started offering more incentives.

Located on our Southwestern shore of Oahu, the Ewa Beach area has beaches (One'ula and Ewa Beach Park), surfing spots, parks and shopping centers to accomodate the still growing community.

Another biggie for attractions are the abundance of golf courses in this area:

  • Westloch Golf Course
  • Ewa Villages Golf Course
  • Coral Creek Golf Course
  • Hawaii Prince Golf Club
  • Ewa Beach Golf Club
  • Barber's Point Golf Course (I learned how to play at this course...and my mom hit her ball through a tree, hit a bird and it fell out of the tree...and yes ...dead)
  • And....Kapolei Golf Course

If you are Military Relocating to Hawaii, Civilian Relocating due to a job changeRetiring to paradise, or just a change in lifestyle you'll find that you will get more bang for your buck in the Ewa Gentry and Ocean Pointe areas.

My client's who are Relocating to Hawaii from Lynchburgh, Virginia arrive this week. After working with them since November they asked me to set showing appointments in the Ewa Gentry-Ocean Pointe areas because of 1) more for their money  2) big inventory (therefore many to choose from)  3) many newer homes available 4) More vacant homes (so hopefully a quick closing).

I had lived in Kaneohe in the early 90's.

I have to get back out there soon to see how things have changed.

Sally- Wow, a 4 bedroom in the high 600's? That sounds like a great deal for Hawaii.

Chris- My how small the world is! I lived in Kaneohe too and that is where I had my first son, but that was in the mid and late 70's. Katerina

Sally after seeing some of the prices for homes in Hawaii that you and Randy have Posted, these do seem to be more affordable.  Good luck with your clients from Virginia.

Sally, I am sure your clients will fall in love with the area and one of your lovely properties--and you for finding them a wonderful new home.  The prices of Condos are so reasonable there!  I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time with your client's, you must feel as if you know eachother.

Sally - This looks like a lovely community.  I escpecially like some of the more traditional Hawaii style architecture in some of the homes.

Sally,

Ewa Beach certainly seems very reasonably priced and I love the fact that it has two beaches nearby. It sounds like the kind of place I would check out first if I were moving to that area..... wonderful slide show!

Marlene: It's still growing but there are some nice homes here.

Thesa: Thanks!

Jo: It is getting to be one of the better priced neighborhoods...with beaches, golf etc.  Thanks.

Sharon: Thanks Toni... Kaneohe is pretty much on the other side from where I am but the Koolau Mountains with waterfalls during rains are something to behold!

Marlene, I saw a news article about abandoned houses burning in a lava flow, although two men still remained to live there. I forget which island. How common an occurrence is this?

Marlene?  Oops...Andrew...I think you got the names wrong lol!

The lava flow is on the island of Hawaii (aka Big Island) The volcano has been going on for like years off and on....on that island.

Sally - I would worry about living on an island with an active volcano! But there are so many other islands to see out there! One of these days....one of these days!
