Lynchburg's Historic First Baptist Church
Historic high Victorian Gothic style building with 180 foot steeple designed by New York architect John Rochester Thomas in 1886. The dominating feature of the sanctuary is the use of stained glass made in Lynchburg by William A Hefferman. Located at 11th and Court Streets, free, self-guided tours are offered Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. -2:30 p.m. 434-846-1345. This beautiful building continues to be one of Lynchburg's most cherished landmarks.
