John Robinson of Wood & Clay Builders noted at last Thursdays meeting that the Lakes Region NH Homebuilders have been "very involved" in working with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Sciences for a year and that there is going to be a learning curve on the NH Home Builders part and on the part of New Hampshire Department of Environmental Sciences.  He said that hopefully applying for Building Permits will become like applying for a Septic Permit....a very efficient system with clearly understood procedures.  He went on to say that the State of NH DES goals include a 30 day response time to Applications and an end goal to protect the lake, which is a goal both NH home builders and NH DES share.  Mr. Robinson mentioned the NH Shorefront Organization, which has a website that posts the minutes of the NH DES hearings and is made up of 80% Shorefront owners.  The NH Shorefront Organization's Mission Statement is Balanced resource Management.  Their website is a great resource for NH Waterfront Proeprty Owners to use to keep updated on the ongoing changes to the rules to the Shoreline Protection Act.
