According to Brian Kaberline's column in the Editor's notebook for the Jan 26-Feb 1 issue of theKansas City Business Journal, experience with the Best Places to Work has shown benefits of being recognized by a neutral source apply to the Places which make the list and for the employees of the businesses.
Kaberline writes that more is needed to be the BEST BUSINESS than highest sales or being on the cutting edge of business trends. Criteria will include consistent growth, innovation (including looking improvements in product, customer service and being able to buck status quo management and employee relationship patterns. "And don't write off the community involvement component as a tie breaker." Kaberline writes.
