East Hampton Maple Sugaring Open House

Rick's Sugar Shack in East Hampton, CT will hold it's third Maple Sugaring Open House Saturday,March 1, from 9am to 4pm at 69 Collie Brook Rd, East Hampton. Rick Walker, owner and operator of the sugar house, has been in operation nine years, but has been sugaring in East Hampton for the past 16 years. During the open house, Rick will show visitors how to tap into the Maple tree, gather sap and then demonstrate the multifaceted process of boiling the sap down into maple syrup. Samples of fresh maple syrup will be available along with maple fudge, maple mustard and maple bread. Complimentary coffee and juice will be served. Maple syrup will also be available for purchase. Rick's Sugar Shack is located on the unpaved part of Collie Brook Rd, which is accessible from South Main St and Tartia Rd. Driveway parking is limited, but visitors can park along the road. Signs will be posted at each end of Collie Brook Rd, East Hampton, CT. In the event of snow, the open house will be held Sunday March 2 during the same hours. Outdoor attire is suggested.
