Charlottesville Virginia Real Estate

This weekend I have been out showing homes with clients who are from out of town,

We have been in 20+ homes and with the inventory that is available in the Charlottesville Real Estate market that is not out of the question.

Today I was in an afternoon meeting and my phone was on vibrate.

I received 4 voicemails from agents asking for feedback on showings from the weekend.

Well I totally understand that agents want feedback and (if it is approved with my clients) I am more than happy to give feedback.

But these 4 calls are made during the busy part of the day and we end up playing phone-tag and in the end no one is really happy,

I also go 3 emails asking about showings so when it was convenient I was able send these agents feedback and not just something "rushed during a phone conversation".

It just makes a lot of sense for agents who want feedback to use email.... This is my opinion.

Charles, I make all feedback requests via email as well.  Not everyone responds, but those are the more than likely the same ones who wouldn't call back either.  If someone emails me for feedback, at least I can double check that I'm giving them the right info on the right house...some days they all run together :)

I am all about Email.  I HATE getting 10+ phone calls on Mondays.  Emails I can answer any time.

I prefer email also.  I don't like phone calls all day long about trivia!

We have an office here in my market that is so wonderful about feedback.  When they call, they always ask if I have a minute for feedback or would I like them to call at a later time.  I always make time for them because they are so darned sweet about it.

Then there is the sassy buyer agent in my market who, when asked for feedback always asks if the listing agent received a fax.  When the listing side says no fax was received, the buyer agent replies, "That's the feedback."

Wouldn't be so funny if she said it to ME, but it is hilarious otherwise.  :)

I am able to give much better feedback via e-mail.

Our company uses an automated feedback request system.  I would much rather receive e-mail feedback.  Most efficient use of time. Better quality information.

I love receiving a feedback request via email.  I can be as brief or verbose as I choose to be, and also as you said return the request at my convenience.

This past Sunday I also showed many homes to a buyer client.  While still in the car with her I received 2 phone calls requesting feedback.  (One, not 20 minutes after I left the home in question).  That was a bit annoying.  No, I didn't return the call until yesterday and explained "I hadn't even left my client when you called.  A day to digest all of what they saw and thought about the homes certainly is in order don't you think?"

I request feedback via email. I have had the same experience as you . At one time I was showing homes on Sunday, and was still showing homes to the buyers when the agent's assistant called me on my cell phone  for feedback on a house .

Charles - we all want feedback, but e-mailing them in the evening is the easiest way - those mid-day phone calls requesting instant feedback are annoying to say the least!

Charles- I whole heartedly agree on the email feedback. My office appointment desk service automatically sends them out to agents who show our listings. Many are getting better at returning them as well.

Our clients all want us to send feedback requests via e-mail.  Some programs (like Homefeedback) are so automated about it that you can set up the feedback request and the system will send it 3 times before presuming that the agent will not respond.  No only is e-mailing for feedback helpful as far as being observant of the agent's time, but you can then forward those replies directly to the seller (or have them sent to the seller automatically if you'd like). This lets you stop being the "bearer of bad news" if the response isn't favorable.  They get it straight from the horse's mouth (or buyer's mouth, as the case may be).

Sometimes I receive calls from anxious agents minutes after I have left a home. Since they rely on MLS-associated software to notify them, which often takes 24 hours, I wonder WTF: are they sitting out front with binoculars? Don't they know I am with my client?

Agents who send me an e-mail get a response.

Yep , you are right...they need to be more courteous and respectful.  They seem extra hungry.
