About 6 years ago, I had the privilege of meeting a man who would have a major part in changing my life.
This older Dutch gentleman, and his beautiful Southern belle wife, have become two of the greatest influences to my wife & I, and I'd like to share a few tidbits of wisdom he has thrown our way over the years...
"Treat money like s*** - if you stack it up in a pile, it just stinks. You have to spread it around to make things grow"
"Son, you can't fly with the eagles if you're hanging around with turkeys"
"What are you... stupid?" (must be used with care... and the accent doesn't hurt either)
There have been many more... most too personal, or requiring a long backstory, to share here. But I wish everyone had someone like this gentleman in their life. Honest to a fault, kind as they come, and funny as hell.
