It's amazing how many comments and emails I receive back on these lead generation blogs.

I hate being a newbie.  I can really see how this is addicting though.  My G-d, I have so many wonderful people to talk with now.  I'm a boutique broker swimming in a very overpopulated and saturated with realtors market.  Sometimes I feel all alone (can you hear me crying?) out here.  Making a living in Nanuet Real EstateBut ... I've been with the biggest broker in town, then after that went with the second biggest and although I have a lot of responsibility on my shoulders, I believe there is still wonderful opportunity with a tradtional (please, please, please, don't call me mom and pop) broker.

I enjoy all of you.

What is a boutique broker?
I'm what I like to call an independent company.  I thrive on making decisions, running the show, and doing things on my own.  Now I see how the franchises are hurting in this slow market and I'm hoping I'll get a few more agents ;)

Jennifer ... hi  ... boutique broker ... a term I heard a while back for a small independent.  Kind of like a "boutique clothing shop" is not a macy's but sells clothes.  What do you think of that term.

How do you recruit Jennifer.  I find it's always a challenge because of the marketing package of the "big brokers".

I think boutique broker makes you sound classy and special (as opposed to the 'big box' guys/gals).  I run ads and have an 'agents wanted' block on my website.  I do have advantages over the franchises...I'm personally available to my agents, do not charge any desk/monthly fees, I pay E&O, and have what I still think is the best 'split' in the area maybe the whole state.  The type of agents the big brokers are targeting are usually not who I am looking for but that's just me.

Hi again Jennifer:  I didn't coin the phrase "botique broker .... I read it in a real estate trade magazine.   I too thought it sounded better than an independant, small or worse "mom and Pop" agency.

I think you'll like the article at my blog here:http://activerain.com/blogsview/393204/Career-in-Real-Estate

I excerpted part of it for you here too:

Small businesses are the foundation of our great country.  Boutique brokers have more opportunity than ever.  I want to close by directing you to a couple of sites that reflect that belief....

Giant brokerages aren't crushing the boutique firm-they're creating a new opportunity.

Curious ... does that ad work for you on your site.  I clicked on agents and I only see a couple.  Do you have difficulty recriting.  I do and am looking for help in that regard.

Thanks again Jennifer.

All the best.  Angela

There is something to be said for the boutique broker scenario.  If it works run with it.

It not only works, it is the backbone of our country.

boutique doesn't equate with "less" . . . it absolutely works.

thanks for writing.
