Getting every edge we can is so important when you are in business for yourself or you're an independent contractor. What if you had an edge that nobody else had? What if you were able to do something so important for your clients that they would do everything but kiss you? What if you could be a hero with your clients for long after the sales transaction?

OK, here's the deal. Find a valuable service you can give as a closing gift to your client. Something that gives them protection. Something that gives them peace of mind. Something that gives them access to the service right away. Something that gives them assistance when they need it most. Give them a membership that's more valuable than a gym membership or receiving a greeting card or flowers periodically. Give them a membership that's inexpensive but will definitely put you high on their list of "goooood people."

Think about this. As a professional you know things that your client doesn't. They sort of come to the conclusion that you know a lot. Often you refer them to the best lender, the best title company, the best escrow company, the best termite company, the best stager, the best insurance representative, the best mover... Do you want a way to put yourself way above your competitors? Offer your clients an identity theft protection plan as a gift. They will love you for it. So many people are in need of an identity theft protection plan but just don't know what to do.

Here's what they'll receive from you as a gift:

*continuous credit monitoring
*an up-to-date credit report through Experian at no added cost
*a personal credit score calculated by an independent scoring service
*a detailed analysis of their personal credit score
*comprehensive fraud notifications
*full service identity theft restoration

Can you see the advantage of having an offering better than your competitors. With the news media keeping the viewing public so alarmed regarding identity theft, wouldn't it be great if you could be there to help your clients soothe their nerves. With the fact that they've just made the biggest purchase of their lives and all of their personal information has been exposed, offering an identity theft protection plan can close the loop of suspicion.

Listen, even if you don't do anything with me personally, it's still worth considering something that will benefit your client.
