My Life So Far ... (Part 2)

My life in photos.  That is the ambitious undertaking I began over the weekend.

What a ridiculously difficult task it is to attempt to boil the sum of one's life to an assortment of photographs.  With every turn of the page of every old photo album in mine and my parents' possession, another vaction, another memory, another life-shaping moment.

If you haven't already seen Part 1, you really should start there.

Following is Part 2 of My Life So Far ...

Paul - How did you get all those Mardi Gras beads...hmmmm?  Great photos and music!

Paul, what a great project! I hope you're able to burn these to a disc or save somehow for your kids. I'm sure they'll REALLY enjoy the photos.

Hey, Collen!  Where ya been?  Burning these all to disc is up next.  I have piles and piles of pictures that need a safe home.

Paul.. I am backwards today.... I'll now being going to Part 1... lol   And in regards to the pictures, it's amazing what we looked like so many years ago. Just looking back at your date picture from 1992, just seems so long ago. It's great to cherish memories.

Hi Elaine :)

Thanks for waiting me out.  Long, arduous weekend.

PAUL - We've barely been able to keep up with this with our kids, so I can't imagine going all the way back to my childhood and working up to today.  You've inspired me to at least get these photos into an online format for safe keeping.  Thank you.

Great pictures... we have what looks like a ton in old photo albums that I need to scan... did you scan them in one by one or do you have a trick you'd like to share?  I can't imagine the one-at-a-time thing.  Wow.

Paul:  Great presentation!  I guess you started in real estate even as a teen (For Rent!)--and, I remember those 'inversion boots'--everyone HAD to have them!!  I must say, I like the clean cut better!!!

Paul - If I didn't know better, I would think that you are trying to make up for lost time in Family Ties.  Again, very nicely done with your post, my friend.  I can virtually guarantee your placement in the next recap.

Jeff:  You mean the picture of me with the braces, frizzy hair and 98 pound version of myself?  LOL.  It is pretty nuts to look at some of these and think, that's me?

Katerina:  Thanks for checking it out.  I'm pretty excited about getting these old photos saved online, just in case they would ever get lost or damaged.

Adam:  Part 4 is going to be the most challenging.  We literally have box after box of pictures in addition to an external hard drive full of photos dedicated solely to the boys.  I have no idea how I am going to pare it down.  I love every shot.  Glad I could spur you to save those precious pictures.

Jesse:  One at a time.  Hence my short responses here.  I am beaten down from the effort.

Debe:  Ha!  Fooled you!  That was actually a wig I was sporting in those couple of pictures!

Jason:  A wiser man than myself would have staggered these efforts to ensure placement in the Family Reunion for the next month.  Maybe I'll just try to force everyone else out of this week's reunion through sheer prodigious output.  Good to be back!

Hi Paul :)  I'm all of out of order but...LOVE the Social Distortion...what great memories you must have been reliving the entire time you were putting this together.  I can't pull out photo albums or I'll lose the rest of the day and night!

02/27/2008 05:52 PM by Lisa Heindel, New Orleans West Bank Real Estate (Latter & Blum Inc. Realtors)

I did lose all day and all night, Lisa!  Just isolating the photos that best told the story and scanning them all individually took far more time than I originally had allotted.  Couldn't stop once I started, though.  It was great to relive all of those old memories.
