1) Always check your smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm batteries every month and make sure they beep this is one of the most important gadget that may save your life in the event there is fire or leakage of carbon monoxide from your heating unit .It may also be helpful to have licensed professional check your heating units and chimney to make sure there are no blockage so that the gas does not re-enter your home.
2)Remember to keep all medications from the reach of children also keep house hold cleaners or chemicals away from children.
3)Install GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter in outlets close to sinks in the bathrooms and kitchens .
4)Always unplug your iron or hair dressing equipments after use.
When it comes to accidents in the home the rule of thumb is that prevention is better than cure .
