Table of Contents: SEO Articles

Search Engine Optimization is the art and science of optimizing your web site to work with search engines. The objective is to rise to the top of search engine results by tuning your site into what search engines deem as relevant and popular. I'll be writing a series of blogs diving into different SEO topics. This will serve as the blog index for SEO.

Great SEO requires one or both of the following: time and/or money. Be prepared to spend ample time making your site popular and relevant or be prepared to pay someone to do it for you.

If done right, SEO will draw business to you. It is possible to have the phone ring and emails come in with clients on the other end.

Here are links to other SEO articles of interest written by other authors (I subscribe to several weekly newsletters providing great content):

Teri: I'm actually a Realtor in Las Vegas. I used to be a developer but I don't do it anymore accept for my own sites.

I only write these blog topics because I get asked questions frequently and would like a place to point collegues when the situation arises.

I would be happy to recommend some great companies, however.

Send me a message and I'll point you in the right direction.

This is great stuff, but who has time in this business to do all of this SEO stuff on their own? If you are going to do it right and you are not a developer, I would suggest that You speak to one at least about the design layout of your site. What a blessing to have all of this information at our fingertips though!! Thanks a million!

Eric: Thanks for your positive feedback!

Thayer Crew: I looked into IBP sometime ago and found that someone still has to do the work. IBP won't write your content and it won't create inbound links. It is a good tool to find out where you stand and give you guidelines but a webmaster or his developer still has to do the work of making the site popular and relevant.

Maureen: FYI your current site: http://www.rocklandhomestaging.com/ looks sharp. If it is a template site you may stick close to that layout and design...

Thank you for all of the good topics you are covering here.  I am thinking of redoing my design to make it more user friendly and I will keep all of this in mind.  I am doing all of this myself (well, my husband helps) so it is nice to have a guide of sorts.  I am thinking of building my own template for some of the parts that appear on every page.  I have a bunch of neighborhood pages where everything is the same except where the map is centered and what level of zoom, and the sales comps.  I guess I need to sit down and think how to do it.  Maybe I can lay it out on paper first.

SEO Question.  I just had a high pressure call from a company names USASEOPRO.com.  They claim to be  a highly effective SEO specialist with guarantees to first page placement.  I am not sure I understand it all, but they build something like a mirror site that links to your site without HTML errors.  They demonstrate other live sites with excellent placement, just no real estate sites yet.  They are not cheap.  Has anyone heard of them?  Has anyone had any experience with them?  Thanks.

USASEOPROs SCAM.  Mike, I wish I had seen this entry sooner and I hope you haven't joined USASEOPROs.com.  They will get you on a search engines first page but those 100 page guarantees are on a search engine no one has ever heard of.  When you email them or call you get no response because they won't change the mirror site - they already have your money!  You could do the same thing, just list a hundred key words and submit, that's all they do.  You'll get your first page listings then drop off the grid.  This company is a scam and if they had a real storefront instead of the garage they work out of, you could go back and see three idiots working on a computer.  The only thing these scammers did right was hire a good salesman who knows the tricks of the trade.  Save your money Mike.

I just got a high-pressure call from http://www.usaseopros.com/.  The guy tried to pressure me to place an order right then and there, and when I said I needed some time to think about it, started spieling out insulting comments to shame me into buying their products.  He told me procrastination equals failure, and I would never be successful in business since I don't want to take immediate action.  A load of crap!  When I told him firmly I wasn't going to place an order now, he started cursing, told me he didn't want to do business with me, and hung up.   Sounds like a bunch of scammers who just want to take the money and run.  I'm going to report them to BBB and other consumer protection agencies.  I'd hate for other people to endure the infuriating experience I had with them.  DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH http://www.usaseopros.com/!

Anyone in a hurry to sell something is not a good person with whom to do business. Understanding SEO is a good idea, but there is no substitute for good design and relevant content.

same here, high pressured sales guy from usaseopros. why would anyone drop 2500-3000 to some guy after talking for only 15 minutes. he hung up after 30 minutes of me telling him he couldnt get our site 1st page on the exact keywords i wanted. adding your city to any keyword can get you first page, thats not where the traffic is at.

USASEOPROS is a huge scam artist company... They burned us for $6000 last year and almost put my family out on the street because they lied to me and promised the world. It was strange now that I think about it because the owner of this company cold called me off some MLM list and pitched me and then promised me first page on Google for my keywords. Yea right! UsaSeoPros are flat out thieves.

Tired of all the SEO and Internet Marketing folks trying to slander the competition.  Get a life and focus on real results instead of pulling down the competition.   Be careful because it can happen back to you.  Watch what you say about companies without doing your true research because it could come back to haunt you.  Actually, most of the claims made above are not even truthful.  USASEOPros.com has a staff of 60+ people (Not 3). Over half of the staff are technical development which shows they are focused on results.  Just because you didn't get rich quick doesn't mean they are a scam.  Have patience and do your real homework and not just a google search full of a handful of resentful folks.  USASEOPros.com has serviced over 2000 clients and counting which means that the small handful of resentful folks represents a small fraction of the total client base.  Actually, most of the negative posts about them are from the same two people Robert T Scoviak who is trying to offer SEO himself and a former employee who was fired for stealing and other things.  SEO is not for everyone and especially will have a hard time with MLM and Realtor related sites where there is an ENORMOUS amount of competition.  You will need to focus, focus and focus again on creating solid content and solid relationships with your local related companies.  Once you have created a solid website (Not just a website that uses MLS Realtor Search) you are ready to get a boost from an SEO professional.   I really hope you all are successful but remember that once you do succeed you may fall victim to a resentful and jealous person or former staff members.  What goes around comes around.

USASEOPROS.com worked for me

This is a great video that exposes the truth about usaseopros: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgiY88EN7gc&fea

Anyone scammed by them, file reports with S. Nevada BBB (D+ rating) and the FTC. Help these agencies establish a pattern of fraud perpetrated by them. Tell your stories to the media. On top of unethical Terms of Service and strong arm selling tactics, they practice black hat SEO, which can actually get your website banned from search engines altogether. Don't answer calls from usaseopros(dot)com, Business Development Institute, BDI. Put these scammers out of business for good!

Good Day. Man is only miserable so far as he thinks himself so. Help me! It has to find sites on the: Mortgage resale definition. I found only this - debt recovery canada. Everyone loves cash - a family deals with life and each other while they live off cash advances and payday loans. Hiring a denver commercial mortgage broker. Thank you very much .
