What could be said of World Book Encyclopedias? They are generally reliable and they are consistent.

Search engines give credit for the age of a web site. How much credit? no one knows. However, engines like a site that has been around for some time. The content can change and navigation move around but the fact a site is consistent over time is important.

Google and other engines will often place a site in limbo for weeks or months before it assigns it a page rank. Pages may even be indexed but they will be seen as temporary in the overall site value until they have aged and matured.

Active|Rain is an example of this. Individual editors can write content and see it live on google days later. However, their blog, profile, or even individual pages won't receive a page rank for weeks to months. As a whole Google sees AR as creditible but not necessarily sections or individual pages of the site.

Your individual agent web site would be compared to a small section. Google may see the pages and even index them but when it comes down to overall site credibility engines may not trust the site as a valid source for some time.

Once you choose a domain name to go with be sure to stick with it. Changing can kill your site popularity and credibility leaving you at square one.

I suppose this is why some of these companys that guarantee your website ranking for a fee accomplish the ranking by constant tweaking until they accomplish the ranking. Then once they discontinue the tweaking the website then eventually goes back to it's original ranking or close to it.
