Myspace

How many of you use myspace?? I have had an account for over 2 years and have met quite a few people from other states as well as locally. For those of you who don't have myspace, look into it. For 1, you add people "freinds" to your profile and when you send out a bullitin it goes right to their page, so if you have a listing that is local or renters as friends they will check out your bulletin you just posted and vise versa. One of my friends are getting married so I popped them over a comment "Congrats and if you looking to buy a home call me" they responded they are in a apartment but want out and it will expire in July. Just things like that. The site is free and not only for teens..... Keep that in mind...

I have used it, but haven't shared the success that you mentioned.  I guess it all depends on who is on your friends list!

My kids got me onto MySpace about 3 years ago. I didn't do much with it until last year and I started to realize it's benefit. I do the same by doing bulletins and announcing new blogs, it's more fun and interactive than my regular web page, especially for younger people, and you do get the occasional hit from it. I sent a message to my 90+ real estate friends just last week inviting them to join ActiveRain. So far two have joined (yay - points) but 6 or 8 responded that they're long time members here as well.

I also did a search of my community and added as many friends as I could. Now when I have an announcement or a new listing that might be of interest, I can direct it to them. I don't spam or anything but it's a good way to reach a different audience than you get here.

Follow the link above and I'll see you on my friend request.

Well one of things I do is surf Real Estate forums and then add them to my page as well as sign up on their forum. You have about 5k frinds to choose from and vise versa. I also do a local search in my area, and add them to my firend data base. Much luck

Interesting I have looked at myspace.com and I always thought the demographics were way to young for my specific business but you never know! I will check it out thanks.

John- I agree MySpace is a great way to stay in touch with your SOI.  Thus, it can turn into business but I do not market to them directly.  I just keep them informed what I do and that should turn into buiness.

Todd & Danielle- I had seen some statistice of MySpace users and the average age surprised me.  I can't remember what it was but I am sure it was between 35-40.  While Facebook was actually a lot younger.
