My kids got me onto MySpace about 3 years ago. I didn't do much with it until last year and I started to realize it's benefit. I do the same by doing bulletins and announcing new blogs, it's more fun and interactive than my regular web page, especially for younger people, and you do get the occasional hit from it. I sent a message to my 90+ real estate friends just last week inviting them to join ActiveRain. So far two have joined (yay - points) but 6 or 8 responded that they're long time members here as well.
I also did a search of my community and added as many friends as I could. Now when I have an announcement or a new listing that might be of interest, I can direct it to them. I don't spam or anything but it's a good way to reach a different audience than you get here.
Follow the link above and I'll see you on my friend request.
John- I agree MySpace is a great way to stay in touch with your SOI. Thus, it can turn into business but I do not market to them directly. I just keep them informed what I do and that should turn into buiness.
Todd & Danielle- I had seen some statistice of MySpace users and the average age surprised me. I can't remember what it was but I am sure it was between 35-40. While Facebook was actually a lot younger.
I am meeting with another investor from myspace who I sent out a bullitin to from my circle. This is free and only good came come from it.....
