Saint Joseph "THE HOMESELLER"

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker SkyRidge Realty

KNOWLEDGE::: In todays tough market of Selling Homes ,,,I've decided to try something I heard about years ago but have not personally tried myself... I keep hearing about "going back to the basics" so maybe this is one of those!!

"SAINT JOSEPH, THE HOMESELLER"  Joseph, a carpenter from Nazareth, was the husband of Mary, and the father of Jesus. He first made a home for Mary in Nazareth; then he moved his pregnant wife to Bethlehem, where Jesus was born. An angel warned Joseph in a dream one night to take Mary and the Child and flee to Eqypt to escape the wrath of King Herod, who wanted to kill the Baby. After Herod's death, Joseph again was told in a dream to return to Nazareth. As you can see, Saint Joseph knew all about moving, selling homes, and finding new ones!  Saint Joseph is honored as the Patron of a Happy Home, Safeguard of Families and Protector of Children. A tradition of burying a statue of Saint Joseph finds its roots in the ancient Catholic custom of burying blessed medals in the ground, invoking God's blessing on the area..... Today, homeowners of all denominations ask for Saint Joseph's help in selling and buying their homes.. Agents purchase a statue then say a simple Prayer Verse and bury Saint Joseph and wait for God's Blessing on this home!!!

I personally know of Realtors that say this does work... So knowing that, I've already bought my first statue and will let you know when my listing sells!!

I have done it and each house I have bought them for has sold.  You have to let the homeowner do it, not you.  When the house is sold they need to take old St Joe with them.  We used to do this years ago, funny how things come back around!

Audrey,

Thanks for your input on knowing "It Works"... I didn't read anything about the Homeowner needing to be the one to bury it. What happens if the owners live out of state?? Many of the listings we have here in the Resort area of Lake Arrowhead are second homes...

Pat, then I guess if the homeowner is out of state, you can do it by proxy.  St Joe will give you a pass.  LOL.  If you google St Joseph homeseller kits they show up right online, and yes, you can buy them in bulk.  I comes complete with the prayer and instructions.  Look, I'll try anything. . . Lots of people in my office have bought them.  I wonder if it is considered a "marketing expense"  BTW, I used to live in that area when I was a kid.  Havent been back in 30 years, bet it is different.  I hope it works for you!

Audrey,

Marketing Expense!!! Another great idea... And one that I will definitely use,,, of course with St. Joe's permission!!

So, you lived in our amazing mountain area. I moved here 15 years ago & have seen many changes but can't even think of any where I would rather be. What area did you live in here and how long ago did you leave Calif?? As far as our real estate market place, although we've slowed down, sales are still happening mainly because we are a premier Resort area and most of our clients purchase second homes..

Anyway, If you get anyone coming my way, please keep me in mind and I'll do the same for you.......

I'll let you know how my St. Joe does!!

Take Care,

Pat
