After the snowstorm this week and the driving rain tonight, I am glad to be getting back to warmer thoughts.  My "Spring Like" day in New York City.  (Sorry, we are FAR from over; this was one long, beautiful day).  Besides, I love to show New York City-as seen from a Feng Shui Consultant's eyes.

Here are more pictures of that day and some stories that go with them.  If you missed Part One, you can see those photos:  A New York City Day--Take a Walk with Feng Shui Long Island   or this one:  A Feng Shui Consultant in Central Park, New York by Feng Shui Long Island   We were just about to leave Central Park; or so we thought.  Every time I went to leave something else caught my eye.  The camera was put to good use that day!

Any wonder "I love New York?"  I've learned to stop complaining about the price of living in New York because I know I won't leave it.  It's not one of the most expensives places to be without a reason.  But I AM putting my plans together for next winter to become a snowbird, at least for part of the winter.  The best to two worlds!

We were finally heading for something to eat....but didn't realize what we were about to run in to.....

Hello from "the other Joan"  We are getting that wonderful "wintery mix" in New Hampshire.  Boy was it great to see these pictures of sping!  I am going to look forward to the next part of your adventure.  Regarding Pricey -- I felt the same way about living in San Francisco -- I LOVED it!

I love the topiaries! Central Park is truly a national wonder.  To have all that green space in the middle of such a huge city is amazing.  Thanks so much for sharing!

Hi Carole - And the winner is...  Oh, that's a different show.LOL

Fabulous photos.  It's so nice to see that there's so much nature and beauty where you live, much                 like in the Twin Cities.

Carole:  I have to be honest, New York City was just not a place I thought I ever wanted to go but you have made me fall in love with the place.  It's beautiful and such history.  I think I would like very much to visit there some day.

Jo, I always find something fun in New York City...or something I haven't seen before :)  You are going to LOVE it when you finally come.

Catherine, I haven't spent that much time in Mounmouth County but have heard it's lovely; I have a friend that visits a friend there and loves it.

Elaine, We had one long, fun day there; just too many pictures to put in one (or even two posts :)

Joan, I feel so SORRY for you!   I'm waiting for your wonderful road trips and just filling in for you temporarily :)

Joan, I  love two other Cities:  San Francisco and Boston.  Every time I had an opportunity to travel I went back to SF, I just loved it!  I probably could have given tours :)

Carol, I loved them too.  As many times as I've been in the park there's always something new going on; they may have been there but I've eaten there (years ago)  and didn't see them!

Katerina & Nestor, What a stunning restaurant that is with outstanding food!  They must both be excellent to be working in that establishment!

Kathy, It wasn't a cliffhanger ( I don't think :).  We passed a place I had never seen and did some things I hadn't planned on.  But that's why I don't normally make plans, you never know what the day has in store for you!

Marzena, I have never been to the Twin Cities and always wanted to go...I will get there one day.  I have to get a hat and throw it in the air :)

Cynthia, I will be known for my "picture" posts, not Feng Shui.  I love the City and it amazes me how much so many people just hate it.

Rosario, It was just a beautiful day to be there.  I'm waiting for another warm day!

Teri, I know, I actually start whining when I haven't been there in a while.  I don't know what I'd do without a beach, either.

Laurie, Thank you.  It was that one beautiful day in January--hard to believe we hit 63 degrees.

Trace. I loved the way that one came out too.  It was quite a day there.

Kevin & Monica, Spring and Fall are the best times; I don't mind the heat but many people find it too hot in the summer.

Lisa, So many of my pictures were wiped away, it would have been interesting to scan some old pictures; you wouldn't believe the difference.

Melissa, Thank you, it is such a wonderful place with so many things to do, you'll never be bored there!

Donna, I feel the same way about Georgia.  I never knew it was so beautiful, I would love to see it. We've got two different worlds :)

Carole ~ That statue by Daniel webster is incredible. Never knew about that rabbit topiary behind TOG. WOW! The picture of the mallard ducks is awesome. And then you top it off with that desirable NYC skyline. Thank you for sharing these, I love 'em

You are having some fine weather out there girl! True to form, I love the sculpture 'ruins'.

Last year in spring I was reading 'The Sound of Paper' by Julia Cameron, which she wrote in part in New York. Her description of spring blossoms along the Hudson and her tiny yellow apartment made me visualize being there.

Hmm, snowbird huh???

Fernando, You must miss NY sometimes....I know I would.  It becomes ingrained in you.  I wish I'd have been able to live in the City for a while.

Gayle, It's freezing here too, we didn't make it past 30 today.  That was one spectacular day with that temperature and we took advantage of it.

Deborah, You would love New York...it's ART.  The buildings, the opera, ballet, concerts, museums.  That's why I loved Paris so much, it took ART to a whole new degree!

I LOVE NEW YORK IN JUNE...how about you?  San Francisco, too--I loved living in Sacramento, only an hour and a half from either San Fransisco and PCH, or the same to the mountains and Tahoe...~sigh~

I need to get out and travel some more!  Paris is next!  Thank you, Carole, as always, for giving a glimpse of other places to those of us who've allowed proximity 'stuckness' to settle in a bit too much!

Carole, I enjoy your walking tours. I feel I am strolling right alongside you. You are good with your digital camera. Keep doing these periodically cause we get a sense of your area. Lots of parts of New York have tremendous nature. I like those garden sculptures.

Ah, Tavern on the Green memories that bring a smile...Only my Jeff (an avid sports fan) would per chance ? run into George Steinbrenner and get his autograph after our engagement dinner at this restaurant LOL

I love NY

Great Post Carole - I will tune in to see if you ran into George also ? LOL

Sincerely,

Grace

Carole, I have always found NYC to be intimidating...I used to travel there on business and even coming from LA it seems so busy and fast paced.  You share the gentle side of the city that clearly is very special.  Thanks for this!

Loretta, There are three cities I absolutely LOVE:  NY, San Francisco and Boston.  I've been to San Francisco five times and explored every part of the city and love it there.  New York in June is fabulous!

Gary, Long Island is beautiful but as the City got better, I am always thrilled to be going there.  And always find something that I love.  I enjoyed the topiary, I don't remember seeing it. although it must have been there.

Grace, Jeff is one lucky guy, I have to tell you.  He's met George Steinbrenner and that's good but he's got one heck of a wonderful wife!

Diane, It is fast paced...except for me :)  Unless I've got an appointment, I stroll everywhere--I don't want to miss a thing!

Sheron, Time for you to get to NY and meander with me.  You haven't been to NY since the 70's, it's completely different now!

These are such beautiful photos! I haven't been back to NYC since I was 3 years old so I really don't have any memories. My sister talks about the Bronx Zoo and I have seen pics with me at that zoo but alas no memory. I will have to visit as an adult and make new memories; is the zoo still there? I have one question, in the pic with the kids playing on the rocks, what is the orange thing along the water's edge?

Rich, The zoo is still there but they've added to it...so it's huge!  They are restocking and renvovating that lake for the spring so it's "closed off."  You can fish in there as long as you don't keep them!  That was a long shot of the rocks but some are very high (and now that my kids don't climb on them anymore, very beautiful :)!
