My Life So Far ... (Part 4)

We are almost caught up!

After wading through piles of old photographs, I have assembled a series of slideshows to (vainly) tell my life story for me.  Part 1, predictably, chronicles my earliest years.  Part 2 marks my progression from high school through college, and into my early years in Real Estate.  Part 3 revolves around my courtship and marriage.

Now on to Part 4.

This is where it gets fun.  If you are as sick of my mug as I am by now, I offer respite.  It's time to trot out my first born.

For this installment of My Life So Far ...

I give you Jack David Slaybaugh.

Paul- I love baby photos, your son is very cute. Take care now, for they grow up to be teenagers!

Okay, kid. You won me over. How maddening is it to put together a crib? Jack in his Italian cap like old man Corleone in the garden. Your footprint superimposed upon his on the beach. The mess with the chocolate cake.

It is 1:35 AM here. I am now going to sleep. Your slideshow renewed my hope and wonderment in mankind. I mean Jack-kind. God bless.

Paul - I have really enjoyed your posts over the last couple of days.  Thanks for sharing your life in pictures.  Also, the music you have chosen seems perfect to me.

Jack - I challenge you to a footrace.

How adorable your baby boy is!  CONGRATULATIONS!

Dennis:  Interesting juxtaposition between the video and the slideshow, no?  ;)

Katerina:  Can't wait to cobble together a slideshow for those years.  Lots of pictures of me posting bail, I imagine.

Andrew:  I knew you couldn't hold out.  Not when my kid is laying on the charm extra thick. Parts 1-3 were just setup.  Parts 4 & 5 are the payoff.  Thanks for tagging along.

Jason:  Thanks, buddy.  This has been really fun.  I won't lie, though.  It will be a relief to finish it.  As to your challenge, I better send you some footage before you humiliate yourself.  The kid can flat-out scoot.

Thank you, Tina!  I've got another even younger who will dominate the next installment.

I know that it looks like a LOT of work went into these posts, but you will be handsomely rewarded.  I realize that is a cryptic remark to make, so I will leave it to you to figure out.

Nice job on the montage and the video selection.  It certainly looks like some great times were had in those photo's.  The crib and the chocolate explosion bring back memories... they also remind me why I'm glad we're in grandparent mode.   We just sent a set of drums  to our oldest.  That should be fun. LOL

Paul, those photos are wonderful, what a joy! I especially liked the one of Jack trying to nurse you and the water-fountain. I have one of my daugher rolling the TP off the roll too.

Paul - what a very happy life you're having now. This is just training for when they hit adolesence! I only have 2 children who are grown, but if I could have had a houseful I would have. What a blessing they are.

Hey Paul,,, what a beautiful post and picture gallery...i just spent nearly ten minutes watching it and i don't HAVE ten minutes this morning!!!  You do have a very beautiful family, enjoy your life!

Jason:  I can only guess that means you are currently looking for previously released photos to amuse yourself with for the upcoming reunion? ;)

Jesse:  A drum set?!!  Oh, you are the freaking devil!!!

Missy:  Thank you so much for following along with all of these.  I really appreciate it.  I actually debated whether to use the photo you referenced, but I do think it is a special picture, so I couldn't omit it.  Chalk the tattoo up to full disclosure :)

Linda:  Two sounds pretty good to me!  I love these rascals to pieces, but I'm not sure we can handle any more.  I bet everyone says that at this age, though.  I'll probably have a different answer in a couple of years.  Wouldn't mind having a daddy's girl at some point.

Mike:  I was just reading your posts detailing your career change, so I know you are a man with limited time rught now.  Thanks for taking the free time that you don't even have to watch this.  I love to show off my boys.

Hi Lisa :)  Yep.  It took a slideshow of my baby boy, but there it is in all of its glory!

The footprints made me get teary!  Sometimes, it's so hard to think that those days are behind me.  Every stage they've gone through had such special moments.   You have so many exciting things coming up!  Enjoy your beautiful boys!

02/27/2008 05:36 PM by Elaine Hanson, REALTOR® ~ Topanga, CA Real Estate Specialist (Pritchett-Rapf & Assoc. Realtors, Topanga)

Isn't that an amazing shot, Elaine?  I love that picture.  I can empathize as I am already shocked by their rampant progress.  The baby is walking now?  Are you kidding?  Hard to imagine being nostalgic over something that happened only a month, a week or a day ago, but I often am.  I promise to enjoy every new stage.

Great picture, it looks like it took you less then 30 sec. to get that crib together, really how long did it take? :)
