Wellington Ridge is a really nice community just outside the city limits of Gig Harbor in Washington State. It's just up the street from Peninsula High School and Purdy Elementary which is really nice if you have kids still in school. The development is nicely landscaped and has sidewalks throughout for those evening or early morning walks. The neighborhood still has tree's but not so many that you never see the sun or have to blow the needles off the driveway every day. The owners of these homes keep there lawns in great shape and the homes are all in the 1990's or newer. Homes in Wellington Ridge are usually priced between 300-500k. That's a great price for the location and size of these homes.

The New Costco, Hospital, and YMCA are close by and so is shopping at Target, Petco, Pier One Imports, Albertsons and Home depot. This is a growing area that has all the great characteristics of a waterfront community. Did you know a saltwater park and beach is within walking distance? The Gig Harbor marina is just minutes from your front door also.

Wellington Ridge is just five minutes from downtown Gig Harbor and the marina. Great places to shop and coffee houses every 1/4 mile.

Wellington Ridge is a Great place to live if you need Salt Water Moorage.  There is a Salt water boat launch for fishing boats as well close to the marina.

Wellington Ridge is less than 3 miles from the New Hospital! Have you seen the construction off of the Highway 16 Burnham Dr Exit? Wow it's going to be great for this community. If you need hospital care now it's over the bridge to Tacoma or all the way to Bremerton. This new hospital will probably not only save lives in Gig Harbor but throughout the Key Peninsula. The Gig Harbor population had doubled between 1990 and 2000, to 6,465 and it's surely higher now. Thanks to a great Gig Harbor real estate market 100's of New Homes have been built just in the last 5 years!

St. Anthony, owned by Franciscan Health System, will have 80 beds and bring about 450 new jobs to the area when it opens. The project has been delayed a few times due to the traffic issues but should still open sometime in 2009. Construction costs, estimated at about $100 million, have grown to $135 million.

Fox Island is only 20 minutes from Wellington Ridge in Gig Harbor. A small boat launch is available but no dock to tie up to. This is a launch for small craft.(fishing boats). Here is a picture taken last Sunday of the bridge and launch
