March marks the beginning of Spring. To many, March means basketball. College basketball and lots of it. The time honored tradition of office pools, brackets, sweet sixteen, Final Four. Even the uninitiated get involved and everyone supports their local college team.
Get ready for something a little different. In the spirit of March Madness, the Virginia Association of REALTORS, through its own blog, VARBuzz is hosting the First Annual Real Estate Blog Brawl. My friend, association executive Ben Martin devised this contest and describes it as follows:
"A single-elimination winner-take-all competition. A fight-to-the-death blog battle where VARbuzz readers determine the winner. Throughout March, we’ll hold up to six rounds of voting to determine who moves on to the next round, who goes home weeping, and ultimately the winner. Being as this is the Blog Brawl, there are no rules. Competitors can use whatever means at their disposal to drive up their vote.
So, get to it. Nominate all of your favorite real estate blogs as many times as you want by Friday, February 29th at 11:59 p.m. EST."
Sounds like fun, doesn't it?
I wonder if we'll have our own Active Rain and blogosphere betting pool once the bracket and seeding is announced.
In the meantime, please head on over to VARBuzz (probably the coolest REALTOR association blog out there).
I'd certainly appreciate it if you'd nominate my blog (http://blog.brianblock.com) for participation in the Brawl. Maybe you can nominate yours too.
Please hurry, the deadline is tomorrow night.
By the way, if you work with your local or state association, VARBuzz could be a great model for your own association to follow.
