When To Tell An Agent Its Time to Quit?

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Crescent Moon Realty, Inc. & Land N Sea Auctions.

A close friend of mine came to me the other day, ranting about how hard she is working and not getting the results that she had hope for in real estate. She lamented on about the cost and the amount of time she has invested in trying to get business, when all is said and done I know that this person has not treated real estate like a hobby.

She needs to see some results for the effort that she had put into real estate, and I definitely see her self-confidence level being eroded. She is praying for a miracle.

As a friend I know that real estate is difficult at times and can be challenging to stay positive. Another issue is that her broker does not want part-timers.

So, when do you tell an agent it time to quit?

That is a hard one, sounds like she is doing what she needs to do to make the money.  She is working hard enough, but is she working smart enough

Tough call. I would hope she will analize her situation and make a decision for herself soon. It is hard to watch friends fail. Good luck.

It sounds like she is doing all the right things. Perserverence is the key to getting started in this business. If she is working really hard and has the potential of becoming a good agent, maybe your Broker could give her a lead to help boost her morale. Once she has something going, it may change her outlook. Tell her to keep positive and the business will come.

Dave and Debra:

I could not agree more, she is on the fence about staying in real estate, and yet I do not want to be the one that tells her it time to go or stay. As to is she working smart, that I would say is something she only knows.

Thanks for the input.
