It was probally 12 years ago that I attended an educational class in Little Rock.  During break we would pass our cards out, we were all mostly new Realtors.  There was one girl in particular that I talked with. She had a great smile, very cute, and loved to talk. Through the years I had thought about her alot.  She was from Russellville, about 2 hours from Searcy. I knew she would make a great Realtor!  She did, she has an assistant!!

Well, this morning my cell phone rings, and it is her!  She told me that her assistant was needing to talk to a Realtor about selling  a home in a small town close to Searcy.  She asked me to give her a call and I did.  I thought, you know that was so long ago and she remembered me.  Maybe I made an impression on her too!

While I had her on the phone, I told her about blogging, and asked her to join Active Rain, she said she would.  She will make a great blogger, she loves to talk as much as I do!

Bottom line is, always pass your cards out, you never know when someone from the past will call you!!

12 Comments on PASS YOUR CARDS OUT AT ALL REAL ESTATE CLASSES!

I always say you never know where your next deal is going to come from.  Take every opportunity to hand out cards, referrals come from the most unlikely sources sometimes.

I am constantly surprised by the number of real estate agents who do not carry cards to pass out in classes. I always go prepared.

Rosario,

That is true!  It really made my day to hear from her, and I am so proud she has done well.  We all have to encourage each other.  Have a great day!

I totally agree with you. I try to pass my card out for any situation or opportunity which presents itself. I think it is one of the most effective ways of advertising.

Derrick,

I agree and I was so surprised she remembered me!

Mary, I think this is a networking opportunity many folks never take advantage of. You just never know who may be in the room who gets out of the business at a later date or has a relative or client who needs assistance in your area. Great point!

Colleen,

That is true, who would have thought after 12 years they remembered you.  Bottom line, pass that card out!  Thanks for the response.  Have a great day!

Mary - you are absolutely correct and this is something we don't often think of.  So many Agents think of other Agents as competition, when in reality we have a much more complimenting relationship

Derek,

Thanks for the response.  Alot of my friends are agents from other companies.  I'm glad you agree.
