Now - more than ever - your credit score matters.

With the current "credit crunch", your credit score is more important now than it has ever been.

You may know your score, but where do you rank? Here is some interesting information I found on www.myfico.com

Up to 499 - 2%

500 - 549 - 5%

550 - 599 - 8%

600 - 649 - 12%

650 - 699 - 15%

700 - 749 - 18%

750 - 799 - 27%

800+ - 13%

What was most shocking to me is that 40% of people have credit scores of 750+...That's a pleasant surprise.

That's a pleasant surprise to me too. Now, my question is where are they all hiding. All I am getting is below 700 scores!

That's a good question. It would be interesting to see if those with high credit scores move less often...Ha Ha.

With the current mortgage market credit scores are more important than ever. Lower scores mean higher rates and/or higher fees. FHA is fast becoming the program of choice due to the less restrictive guidelines and credit requirements.
