Lisa, helping out divorcing couples can be a precarious but important part of our work. Nobody likes to see people going through hard times, and it is important that when selling their home they have the advice of a good attorney (or two) and an experienced REALTOR.

Other than estates, this type of transaction (I know, the word sounds cold) is one of the hardest! It takes a very special person to balance both parties, their baggage and the lawyers and stay focused on the task at hand ~ selling the home.

Dan- I don't know why I didn't think to mention it before. They're difficult transactions, but I'm good at handling them.

Brian- They absolutely need an attorney in these types of transactions! And I have several that I refer them to.

Renee- To be honest, I've found what it mostly takes is a willingness to let them vent, without taking sides. They're a little more time consuming, and emotions are running high, but I've learned how to handle them. =)
